Integrated is better.... hmmm....

Like Oxford Prodigy I too went through the integrated route at Oxford (am only on this thread at all as I have just had a massive row with the wife and am hiding out in the office...;-)

It does seem, from anecdotal stories I hear, that integrated guys are getting onto jets more quickly than modular students. Of all the people in my integrated class (12) only one is not working for a UK airline. Of the modular people I knew a couple are flying jets and some are working as dispatchers even after 2 years finishing.

But I don't think it's logical to suppose from this fact - even if the anecdotal stories I hear reflect a wider trend (which they may not) - that an integrated student is better than the modular guy. It's just that the airlines - for whatever reason - seem to prefer integrated guys.

I hate it and I bought into it and have an airline job which is what I wanted. Lucky old me.
