I've got that mix - aviation and software experience. Have done a bit of GA flying (CPL Multi IR, Instructor rating with 500 hours), as well as having worked previously for an airline in their ground operations - catering (driving those trucks around the tarmac) and a/c loading.
My software experience is not specifically in the aviation space, but I have good working knowledge of it all from previous jobs. In the software space, I've done the whole gambit from development, R&D, to sales & marketing, and management of my company's regional operations.
