This may or may not help you as it relates to another save image as problem but you never know they may be related.
I don't know if you use IE or Firefox but on IE it can sometimes be worth clearing out the Temporary Internet Pages Cache.
Microsoft Article. (Can be slow to load).
Perhaps if you are on Firefox this may still work by clearing the cache under Privacy.
I suspect though that you are set up to empty the cache when you quit IE so this may not help.
