Well, let me see...last year I had about 500hrs of "leadership" time. Yes the Captain is "leader" if you want to put it like that, but you are now starting to deviate from what you originally said.
In a two crew operation, the "leader" is no good if he doesn't have a good relationship in the cockpit with his co-pilot. Believe me mate, in my formative days of line flying, I certainly saw the rough end of aviation and have endured some fairly hair raising situations (engine fires, full shut down etc) and if I hadn't had (as an FO) a decent guy sitting to my left that I worked WITH and not FOR, then I wouldn't be here today to tell the tale...
