Regarding the original question...
I was told in the crewroom today that from the March 2006 BACon seniority list, which does not bear the names of those who have already handed their notices in (and there have been dozens), an additional five Captains and twelve First Officers will be resigning during the coming weeks from BHX alone - most off to EZY in August but also BMI Baby, BMI Regional, Cathay, GSS and corporate.
Some have even got the timing perfect so they can collect their golden hellos before promptly departing. Even better timing for a few guys who were about to resign from BRS, but were beaten to it by the closure of the base. This presented them with waived bonds and some redundancy pay.
There is a significant core of people staying with the ship though, the word is there'll be enough.
