A&P Needed for a Short Contract in Kigali Rwanda

Dear All,

I have a single-engine PA28-140 in Kigali Rwanda that has not flown since 1994. I have had a certain amount of work done on it since 2002 to the extent that I estimate it is around three to four weeks from being able to be put into a condition much closer to airworthy than it currently is.

I have been trying to get an A&P mechanic here for some time now without success. I have had the odd encouraging message but nothing concrete as yet.

Would any of you guys and gals be aware of an A&P who is able to come to Kigali for say three weeks and bash through the work available so that I can get a more complete picture of what remains to be purchased and done in order to get the aircraft back into airworthy condition?

It is repainted now, engine overhauled also with new/ovhld accessories, prop is serviced and flight control cables & pulleys have already been checked. Undercarriage has been serviced as well.

I need the engine and accessories refitting, controls rigging, windows fitting, new tyres & tubes and several ovhld instruments to be renstalled. There's also a bit of metalwork to be done during a reinstatement of the original type of push-pull engine controls.

The exhaust was supposed to have been repaired in RSA but it appears I was robbed because it is u/s. That's an issue that I can sort out at Wilson perhap but on the whole the aircraft is a good project but lacks an A&P's time and expertise to copmplete.

I am not rich by any means, just an idealistic aviator involved in humanitarian work who wants to do some good in the world. If someone wants to get involved and would enjoy a visit to Rwanda for a reasonable compensation then I'd be pleased to hear from them.
