I'm having the same problem, speaking to another colleague of mine who also lives in AUH, he seems to think that the only people effected by this are people who have also got landlines from Etisalat. Is that the case here??? I have a landline, am in AUH and cannot access Skype through the ADSL, however, my colleague, in AUH and NO landline, has no problem!!!!!! Robbers!!!!
Anyway, I have been following this thread with great interest, and I have found FANTASTIC success with HotSpotVPN (

I've tried a week for $6.99 and it works like a dream, is the easiest thing to set up, and acts like a dial up once you are already connected, and you can access all of the "blocked" sites from Etisalat. A full years subscription costs around $130, and you can pay per month from $10. Simple, easy to use, and IMHO, worth the money!!!
