Spoke to an Airport Duty Manager last week and they said that at the moment the new baggage recalim area is on schedule, even possibly ahead of scheduel. At least they have learnt their lessons from the company that constructed the new pier.
It would be strange if XL were to have a base at CWL again this summer especially when it would only be 6 months since they pulled out. What would be the reason for them coming back if they did? Thought they were doing ok at BRS. Would they continue to use Servisair or would the contract be up for grabs again?
Lets wait and see whats going to happen with the announcment of FlyBe/Bacon which should be on the 1st. Hopefully they will add more routes from CWL, but it could be possible that they will pull out alltogether if their having trouble recruiting pilots for the A/C as rumoured. Surely they can't hold off announcing new routes (if any) for much longer.
