I guess that the North Americans (and others) you refer too (that work in the M/E) don't wish to put up with the racial/religious profiling and never ending beaurocacy of the so called "first world" that todays North America represents!
I think perhaps you yourself are a victim of the North American attitude to anybody who is percieved to differ from the "American Way".
The world is a big place and as any country develops they often "Buy In" the persons with ability (culture and intelligence) to get their project done. You only have to look at the history of America to see how well that has been done .... perhaps that is the secret of Americas success ??????
Don't begrudge others for trying to do the same!
