I could put my touchy feely, New Labour, liberal hat on and condemn what has been reportedly said by the 'FlyBE roadshow' as shocking and incompetant. I'm sure it must have got a lot of peoples backs up and driven them to go and find employment elsewhere.
In keeping with the trend set on this thread, I'm going to make my next point in capitals with a word that appears to add weight to my arguement without actually providing evidence or source...
FACT: In any acquisition in any industry not just aviation, upto25% of the workforce of the acquired company will leave off their own backs.
Yes it could be seen as incompetancy, however I think it possibly be a managerial masterstroke. They appear to have given you all the bare facts of what FlyBE is like and how most FlyBE employees view the merger and said take it or leave it. FlyBE is an enjoyable airline to work for. They realise they are stepping stone airline who basically target the 200 hour wunderkid or 20 000 ex-BA, ex-Cathay Captains who want a bit of fun in the regions before retirement.
So by pissing people off they have probably saved those people and themselves a load of hastle and misery, because from this thread it sounds like they would have been pissed off at FlyBE, and would have pissed everyone else off.
Make no mistake FlyBE want this deal for a) the routes for future Q400's and b) the Dash 300 Pilots. Anything else that comes will be bonus.
Those who do come though will be welcomed with open arms!
