Nope, not anymore. This changed before 9/11. It is easier to gain US citizenship by marring a US citizen, but no longer automatic.
The reason? Greed and selflessness of a few screw it up for the majority. There were men and women that were getting married 10 to 15 times a year. All an alien (not the spaceman type
) had to do was to get to Las Vegas, get married, get the paperwork filed, go to Mexico and get a divorce.
Sad really.
