UTR, not lacking in willpower, its just the 'realities' of a 'commercialised' service provider. There usually isn't a 'tech on site' or a spares store at each aid, so its a trip from the nearest tech base (not sure in this case, maybe SY). If they don't bring the right gear the 1st time, then its another trip! I'm not saying this the way it should be done, but that's the way it is these days.
Having three neighbouring aids go out at the same time though is unsual, and should have elevated them up the batting order.
