The reason that you have just
http://www.pprune.org in your address bar is bacause the site uses "frames", notice that the sidebar (with Forums Weather Humour etc) doesn't change. In effect every time you click on a link the actual page you are on doesn't change, but the "page within a page" does.
Now the way I navigate the site is to open say Rumours and News, then go down and open any topic I am interested in, in a new window (incidentaly I right click and select "open in new window"), then hop down the bottom of the page and hit Tech Log. The beauty of this method, is that 1.) After the first page is complete I don't have to wait for any page to load. and 2.) if you need to force a refresh from your ISP with a ? the window already has the full URL in it.
My 2 yr old PC is quite happy with 20 windows open.
