P.S.: just to stay on topic: the year I got my licence in the States, two students experienced an engine failure, one of these was because of carburetor icing, they both landed safely just because they received the correct instruction about emergency by qualified instructors, both engines were correctly mainained and one of them got overhauled during the days before the accident.
