Damn that was quick.
It is Aurukun circa 1977 or so. It was taken from the first flight off the "new" runway when it was still bauxite. You can just see the end of it in the top left of the photo.
My flight out was two days prior and was the last flight off the old strip that dominates the photo. I was the only passenger in a DC3 and treated like a king. Got to sit in the captains seat for nearly the whole flight. Couldn't happen now.
