Just before heading for work. The source is the Gulf News.
Ras Al Khaimah: RAK Airways has received its air operating certificate from the GCAA and is ready to launch on March 15.
Jack Romero, CIO of RAK Airways, said, "Once traffic rights to India and Iran are secured, the airline is totally ready to launch.
"The reservation system [Aires] will be tested live next week" he said, adding that the pilots and cabin crew are ready after they were trained by Lufthansa.
He said a generous baggage allowance - up to 45kg on selected routes - will be introduced.
Efficient booking facilities will also be available along with call centres for customer service.
"RAK Airlines will have many booking systems (multi channels) including the internet, local travel agents, travel centres, SMS, and kiosks at the airport," he said.
Romero said once started, there will be two aircraft which will have two passenger classes: business and economy and the passengers will be served free food and drinks.
The fleet will expand by two aircraft per year.
"The first year will target Iran and India. The second year will target Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The third year will target Russia, the CIS, Levant and North and East Africa," he said.
