The cockpit windscreen and windows led me to think that the aircraft was a Fairchild Provider C-123 but the panel was quite different. I then recalled that in order to save money Hiller had adapted the fuselage of the Chase YC-122C (the forerunner of the C-123) as the X-18's fuselage. After further research I was able to confirm that evansb's challenge was in fact the Hiller X-18.
