Jet Airways/SpiceJet

Guido has brought out some interesting points. In the 18 plus years with the airlines I have never had to "pay" for my proficiency check. Is that standard practice. I assume as a contractor you are now considered a "free agent." If so, what does it cost and where can you get it in India. Does it only apply to EU licenses or FAA/Canadian as well. The costs can add up if you get one twice a year with min 2 hrs sim per PC.

I am hearing a lot of nice things about Spicejet. What bases do they offer, and what are their terms and conditions. i.e. pay, rostering, and housing allowance. Do they also require you to pay for your recurrent.

As fas as English speaking drivers? Come on now--you are in India. Learn some of it to get by! I did a contract in Indonesia and South America years ago--can't expect the poor driver there to speak English. For that matter I was in Germany and the taxi driver refused to speak English.
