sorry to hear that you dint make it past the first round..
ont get dissappointed, and DO NOT take it personally...the problem with an open day is that, the recruiters are under lots of pressure to cut down numbers..
and you never know who they are looking for on the day..so really .. a lot of it is down to them just missing you out..
im not sure the smokers taking a break had anything to do with them getting past the first stage..if anything i think smokers are a put off in a group situation..
i would suggest reapply again. and dont worry about it.
when i applied, it was on an off chance, i dint have a single clue as to what to expect, dint know anything about the rounds, stages and group discussions...so the day was really like a roller coaster..
it was only after the final interview and during the waiting period that i stumbled across this website, and realised that EK is so popular!
so in someways..ignorance is bliss.
For Those wondering about the upper age limit..i can only say you are as old as you feel, i think if you are youthful,(however old you are!), energetic and pro-active...you should apply..
