Where he got the ATPL from should have no bearing on his transition from second officer to first officer as far as I'm aware....not able to answer the question as far as time frame...lot of it depends on the work you put into your training you do get more sectors per on the 320 though but it always depends on the availability of TRI's as well...welcome aboard..good luck
