Maybe someone will correct me, but I don't think Outlook Express supports this - I believe you need to set up the full Outlook with "local" post office - and last time I tried that (with Win 3.11 I think) I didn't find it so easy.
Perhaps you'll have to resort to walking to the next room and leaving a post-it on the wife's/daughter's/son's monitor
