If both PC's recognise the network cards (ie the correct drivers are loaded) you can do it the following ways :-

1. If only two PC's are to be connected, get a cable that is called a 'pass thru'. This means that there is a transmit & recieve at both ends of the cable.

2. Get a mini hub (3 or 4 port). You still need the network cards in your PC to connect to the Hub. This way you can have more PC's in your network. Use any cat5 cables.

Then you need to install Microsoft Networking on all PC's and make the WORKGROUP name the same on all pc's.

Install NETBUI & TCP/IP as the protocol, and share all devices.

Sounds hard, but actually isn't. I actually do this type of stuff all day long, so its.... 'only easy if you know how' as the saying goes.

If you get stuck, let me know and I'll explain it via email on a word document.
