Post Viruses, hoaxes, urban legends, etc..

(I've seen this pop up so I'd like to make a plea...)

Please please please never ever pass on **anything** that tells you to pass it on to everybody you know. Whether it's a virus warning or a request for help it is 99.99999% always a hoax or an urban legend.

Please **think** when you get something and, if you must, ask yourself some questions such as

[quotes:]

"It [a 'virus'] just went into circulation yesterday."

When is "yesterday"?
"announced yesterday morning from Microsoft. "

So where is the URL of the website with more information?

"Please share it with everyone that might access the Internet."

What, all umpteen million???

One of my laws of email: If it says "send to everyone you know", just don't. After all, isn't that what the Love Bug did, and look at the chaos it caused?!

Take a look at http://www.vmyth.com - it says it better than I ever could.

Next week: "send this on and get freebies / cash". Stay tuned.
