I read this in a computer magazine :

1) Launch the Windows Explorer
2) LOcate the file "win.com" (usually in C

windows)
3) Rename "win.com" into something like "winold.com"

Now the new Windows 98 CD ROM will not be able to locate the win.com file and assume that there is no other OS installed and will install Win98.
