I have to say; that PPRuNe is VERY SLOW at the moment - even though relatively few people seem to be on the forums.. Is there a problem that we're not aware of?
Yes, there is a problem, and you may not be aware of it but some of us are very aware.
It's all down to bandwidth, or capacity. Not on the server, but on the wires that carry the information between you and the server.
The internet can be pretty crowded at the best of times, a bit like airspace soemtimes, and the links have a finite capacity - they can only carry so many messages per second, etc.
With more and more people becoming internet aware and literate, and more and more sites providing more and more information, in times of major crisis such as we have just seen people switch on the PC and go for the information sites.
When WWII was declared, people rushed to huddle ound the radio. When JFK was shot, people rushed to watch TV. When this started happening, the internet traffic shot up enormously.
Remember also that the internet is different from radio or tv.
Radio or tv are send once, receive many times type signals. That is one broadcast can be recived by as many people as are in range, without affecting the y=transmission bandwidth.
The internet is send once, receive once. If 20 people go to CNN and want to watch the latest video clip, that file is transmitted 20 times, etc, etc.
It's also this effect that is used by the idiots who try to freak out the net by propogating e-mail virus.

Sorry if I am getting to the Grandma sucking eggs syndrome, just bear with it and it will get better as the load decreases.

edited for typo
