I am cabin crew here at Emirates and can confirm this sort of thing is normal and happens all the time.
They can keep people in the dark until only days before their departure and suddenly you will receive your contract and tickets.
The best thing to do is keep in close contact with your cabin crew recruitment co-ordinator and call them every day to check your status. You need to remember that they are pumping out 60 ab-initio crew a week from the training college and they dont really have the infrastructure to deal with such mass expansion no matter how glossy their website and advertising is.
There are crew who graduated over a month ago still not flying because of a delay in the printing of their flying licences.
Trust me... the ride is only just beginning for you. Patience....
