revnetwork - sorry I missed your post! I had gone back a few pages but thought I had caught up at P27.
Rani - I can't blame VK for holding back on LH fleet expansion. Given the DOT's recent unfavourable reply to Virgin America's application with respect to ownership and with several of the same opponents gunning for VK's application for US rights it would be suicide to go looking for more aircraft than existing routes can support. If US is a no go then stick with 767/330 but if US is go then 777/350 starts looking good.
Of course if SRB gives up on Virgin America there might be homes needed for A320s
