Sky Air World
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sky Air World is a charter airline that will be based in Brisbane, Australia. It will provides a range of services and plans to do charter work for the Australian military, mining companies, tourism operators as well as wet-leases for other carriers, particularly airlines in the South Pacific.

History
Sky Air World plans to launch operations in May 2007 with one EMB 170 on operating lease, CEO David Charlton told ATI in Singapore, where he was meeting with Embraer and GECAS. The deal being worked on is for four aircraft and the delivery schedule calls for an EMB 170 to be delivered first followed by an EMB 190, another EMB 190 and lastly another EMB 170. Sky Air World also considered Fokker 100s which are relatively cheap to purchase or lease but Charlton says he decided on Embraer because the Brazilian aircraft maker’s regional jet aircraft are newer, more fuel efficient and have more range.
Have a principal investor in the United Kingdom and other smaller investors and have raised enough capital to fund operations for “a number of years”.

Services
Sky Air World’s aircraft will have the range, for example, to offer non-stop services from Brisbane to destinations in Queensland, the Northern Territory and many destinations in Western Australia whereas other regional jet operators might only be able to offer two-stop services because of range limitations.
It plans to also eventually have bases in Perth and possibly Auckland in New Zealand. Perth is the capital of Western Australia which is home to a large number of mining companies and Auckland is arguably the major international gateway to the South Pacific.

Fleet
The Sky Air World fleet will consists of the following aircraft:
2 EMB 170
2 EMB 190
