Vietnam has changed a lot and the war was a long time ago.

I flew Cessna 02As as a FAC in Vietnam. One full tour and then I was 'exiled' into SAC in KC-135s although I had volunteered for a second tour in fighters or OV-10s. I then did 2 more short tours out of U-Tapao in the tanker in 71 and 72.
And yes, IT has changed a lot but then we all have. It was a long time ago...
I enjoyed being with the Thai people and especially enjoyed the food. We spent some time up at Pattaya Beach. At that time, there were maybe 3 hotels. Oddly enough, I still have two pair of very fine hand made boots I got in Pattaya.
