yankee, thanks for the reply, i should have added that there wasn't a blanket ban, some diversions were accepted, i saw at 3 or 4 on one day(think it was the thursday)and several exec types on the friday, limited amounts .

the incident you mention about the citation centre, i believe it was friday evening( apologies if not but the following did happen),the citation which wanted to divert belonged to the same company who had phoned up several times during the day and been told that no handling was available, despite that they set off expecting to land and were refused as no handling was available. after some discussion it was SUGGESTED TO THE PILOT that they could park at cse citation centre but that this would be at their own discretion as there would be nobody there to marshall the aircraft etc . the pilot elected not to do that for obvious reasons; the airport (via atc) did not refuse the aircraft permission to land and use ids.
