Thank you all for the replies which have proved invaluable. The link on the Machinists website was stunning especially the photo of the internal workings of the Centaurus engine. I once flew a Sea Fury hence the user name!! It just goes to prove that there are so many varied opinions on engine handling and it is sometimes time consuming to find the facts from the engine manufacturer. Thanks a million again.
