Agree with 212man that it will be inconvenient to most of the Shell families who need to give up their Nigerian homes and return to their home countries at such a short notice.
But at the same token got to say that the support / money they will receive for this inconvenience will be far better than the BHL guy got in 1994 (if any) or would these days.
You just have to look at the bonuses Shell currently have on offer for people to go and work on their Nigeria operations and that was before the recent evacuation of dependants. That on top of the far better salaries they pay but then again one can always vote with their feet and move across to join them like more than one BHL employee has done in the past.
