OH MY!
Gosh, gee! Yep....pure misery! I assume all and sundry knew nothing of the troubles and risks involved in working and living in Nigeria and all this evacuation stuff came as a whopping big surprise out of the fecking blue!
Am I being a bit naive here to think folks should not have a wee tad of foresight and have made contingency plans for the day their families and perhap themselves might have to do a runner if things got out of hand?
I will bet you Euro's to Doughnuts (and you can hold the stakes in yer mouth) that ol'Ma Shell will do right by them as to costs for their inconvenience.
When you are working in a place where kidnappings, hijackings, murders, and a full blown insurgency is going on....it pays to know which way the exit is and make sure you have a Go Bag packed.
"Bigotry"......loyalty is a fleeting thing in the oil patch I would say. The Shell folks have always had an up-turned nose towards mere service company folk. It must be caused by something in the company water cooler.
