Lets clear this up. BA Directors and senior managers from time to time get performance related share options where they get the right to buy shares and of course sell them in the 'allowed period'. These are usually redeemable in 3 years as long as certain criteria are met. So this 'cash' in is the selling of shares at a price 3 years ago being purchaesd at the lower value and now being sold at todays price. If you got 20,000 shares at 3 years ago share price and surrender them now that is very nice.
