I would suppose that the argument would be that the driving is the main competition but I would have thought that there would still be enough of a market for small aeroplanes for somebody like FlyBe.

I 'spose that somebody cleverer than me has already thought of it and subsequently done the maths to find out that is wont work.

STN certainly serves MAN already.

It's not worth putting an aircraft on a route which takes less than 3 1/2 hours to drive, unless there are specific connections to catch.

By the time you've checked in, taxiied, flown 30-40 minutes, taxiied and waited for any bags, you could have got there in a car for cheaper.

Plus, how much space does LTN have to accommodate regional flights?
