I will not try to defend VK, only to say what I know from sources. I'm sure that VK's
PR or at least "keeping passengers informed" leaves a lot to be desired.
I know that 2 days ago, 5N-VNA left the country for scheduled maintenance. That same day, the airline had VNG & VNF AOG which was not planned. I also heard that yesterday, 20thDEC, all the flights to QOW left very late and I definitely know that this was due to bad wx at the destination. In fact the first 2 flights to QOW left within 15mins of each other after the weather had lifted. Being close to the airline, I know the reasons for the delays but my view is that the ops staff at the airports have not been communicating effectively.
BTW, I was on an Aero flight to ENU only 5 days ago that was delayed for 2 hours with no explanation to pax.
