As others have said, yes, I would expect my crews to speak to the passengers if the seatbelt sign is put on for turbulence -
time permitting - and especially if it was bad enough for the cabin crew to have been ordered to sit down! It only takes a moment and is quite re-assuring. It is also in our manual.
