I think this is very relative issue in the sense that different people are looking for different things. Of course in order for someone to give up everything at home for a new place, the carrot must be good enough. This should come in a package rather than $$$ alone.
For example, CX & SQ are offering high basic salary + other perks such as housing, education, tranfer allowances etc. Of course the content of the Conds of Svc need to be read carefully. CX for example is offering permanent employment with expats status to HKG based crew except for local crew. EK is known as offering "Golden handshake" worth USD 1 million after 10 yrs of service. SQ will give expats status to everybody except Malaysians. Those are examples from few companies around this region.
Really, it depends on what is in your mind. As for me, I will go to a company that is strong enough to compete thus ensuring job security, good benefits, less politics and good retirement scheme. If you shop around, you will find one that is suitable to your requirement. Choice of aircraft is the bottom most of my list.
