On my part, I live in Dubai, and work for another Gulf Based airline on the 767.
If you are thinking of re-locating to dubai, I've got a bit of info for you.
Weather: Damn hot in the summer. From Mid June to mid Sept/Oct, day time is about 40-45, and night time is 30-35. You live in air con the whole time.
Traffic: Terrible, and getting worse, the city is basically in grid lock during daytime hours.
Housing: A big issue here at the moment, its very very expensive, to buy a 2 bedroom apt will be at least a 1.4 Mill DHS ($380 K USD). If its hotel accomodations, id be cautious, as hotels here are full and very very expensivea also, I think an average price is $140 USD/night.
Bars/Rest: Good choices for bars and rest and clubs, dont think you will have much to complain about nigh life.
