Sorry mate, but DEAL WITH IT. Its part of our job to ensure everyone has their seatbelt on, and you hear it said a number of times before the lights are turned out.

If it can reach, then absolutely no problem at all.
Keep your seatbelt on (and visible to the crew, ie over your blanket) and you will be left to your own devices if the seatbelt sign comes on.
