Hey Rigs Bwana,

The reason the course that you are looking at doing in S.A is a 200Hr course is probably because its what is called an "approved or intergrated" course. Its the type of course typically airline cadets take. What you will find is that when it comes time to converting your licence over to a Kenyan licence there is actually a section on the form kenyan licencing form which asks if you have completed an approved or intergrated course of flight training which means in your case you will answer "yes" and you will also answer where you undertook this approved trainining course and put down the relevant training hours you did and that is that plain and simple.

It is only if you were NOT on an approved/intergrated course such as a modular course where you would have to have the required 250hrs.

So don't worry about the 200Hrs the various world CAA's and DCA's all ICAO states are aware of this approved flight training course route, the only thing you should checkout is if the flight training organisation you will be attending is approved by the SA CAA to give you the approved/intergrated course.

I hope that helps Bwana,

Good luck with your course and your future career in this wonderful world of aviation!!!!
