regarding reference letter

flyboynath,

I ran into the same problem as you do. One of my ex-employers has the same no reference policy. I never understand the real intention behind this policy. I asked my ex-supervisor and explained to her that acquiring a written reference is very important for me, as this is part of the requirement to be considering for this job. She understood my concern and agreed that such policy is stupid, but regrets that it’s a policy that she has no choice but to follow it. Luckily, although she’s can’t provided me with a business reference, she was more than welcome to provided a personal reference for me. I was so desperate at the time and will take anything that she could offer to me. On the other hand, I wasn’t so sure about this personal letter and no company letterhead situation will satisfy Emirates requirement. So, on my day of final interview, I told the recruiter about my trouble of getting the reference letter. She suggested an alternative to me is to ask my ex-supervisor to staple her business card with the personal reference letter. This way it will work as same as company’s letterhead. I was glad that everything worked out fine on this issue.

If you really have trouble to get a reference letter from any of your previous employers, just get one from your school teachers that will work too. I agreed that taking things one step at a time. Some requirements may be altered depends on the period of your interview. Emirates’ recruiters are there to help you, any questions or concerns that you may have, you can always direct to them. They will be able to give you answers or suitable advice to most of your questions.
