Doubt if the steering broke coincidental with an overrun, and I'm sure consideration for other users of the runway was last on his mind! I guess the localiser aerials were beginning to look rather large, and that induced a large turn. I would have thought it would curve more- an almighty turn then straight track, direct to the scene of the accident!
