As of June this year the salary breakdown was as follows:- Whilst under training (6 months approx.) $7200 and no extras. First year $9000, second year $10000, third year $11000. Once training has been completed you then receive an "International Per Diem" of $3500 per month, from this you have to pay for your own transport to and from Japan, and whilst in Japan, and you pay for your own accommodation etc. At the completion of 18 months you will get a bonus of $12000, same again at the completion of 30 months and again at the completion of 42 months. These figures are all gross, you will need to reguralise your tax affairs with the Japanese and your home country. There is flight pay and nightstop pay as well.
From this, assuming you are paid the terminal bonus, the top salary is $14500 gross in year 3.
