Many airlines have manuals etc. on CDrom so a laptop bag for your laptop with room for headset,licence and the obligatory yellow jacket seems to be the way to go these days - If you get a bigger bag you
will fill it - usually with a load of stuff you dont need, and no matter how often you empty it it is full of rubbish again a week later.
