If you don't mind flying a bit then head up to Kilarney. It is beautiful and the airport is pretty easy to find. When you get there you can phone the Kilarney Lodge and they will come and pick you up from the airport. They have a really nice restaurant and my understanding is that in the summer they have a great fish and chips. But the scenery is really nice and it's not somewhere you could drive to easily because the roads take you way out of the way but it's great to fly to!!
