I was just looking into this myself only a couple of days ago. You say that you have access to the UAS. If you can get access to the RAF Intranet, the qualifications are laid out in RAF Publications/Personnel/Officers and Airmen aircrew terms of service.
Alternatively contact the Engineers Liaison Team at RAF Cranwell (Tel: 01400 266891, or Email:
[email protected]). Their role is to promote RAF engineering through the universities and will be able to provide you with the definitive answer. They also do monthly tours for prospective candidates outlining what to expect at OASC/IOT/EST.
But to answer your original question, Yes a BEng is fine.
