If I take anything from this its thus:
Don't rely on anyone other than yourself for rescue. Bring the required emergency equipment and be ready to do what has to be done to save yourself.
I don't know what happened in the air, but it sounds like the 2IC did the right thing once they were in the water.
Is dunking training provided by the GOM operators or is it a voluntary pay for yourself kind of thing?
