Now that Amazon can list hundreds of thousands of items, many obscure and held by "partners" and not in their own warehouse and can still get the item to you next day- and are "open" 24x7x365 from any location in the world why does a base in North Hampshire require kit orders to be in by the end of the first week of the month for delivery in the following month.
Perhaps Amazon should take on the contract.
And there lies the difference between Commercial and Public Sector IT and procurement projects. In the private sector, if it doesn't work, no profit, you won't get paid. In the public sector, if it doesn't work, then they just shovel more money at it until it does - or doesn't.
