It has sickened me for years and it still sickens me. Having been with both crabs and pongos and tasted life at both ends of the "relative comfort" scale, I know where I would rather be, but that does not make it right.
Human selfishness is all it can be put down to, close out the guilt and im all right jack, just an indicator of the selfish apothetic quasi civvy corporate bollox that the services have become.
